Bankside Open Spaces Trust is an award winning environmental and volunteering charity working with local people to design, build, maintain and protect parks and gardens in the Better Bankside BID area and across SE1.
Since 2001 they have worked with residents, local workers and businesses to develop and manage more than 45 open spaces including Tate Community Garden, Redcross Garden, and the historic Crossbones and Winchester Palace Gardens. These ‘green lungs’ are oases of tranquility in a bustling, vibrant area helping to absorb some of the harmful air pollution which is so damaging to air quality in Central London. They also look after the Marlborough Sports Garden on Union Street and have created a vital space for all ages to use for outdoor exercise and games.
To find out more about supporting their work please call Clive Greenwood on 020 7403 3393 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Even if you aren’t able to help at the current time please come and spend time enjoying the Parks and Gardens they look after. You can also find more about our work and the community events they organise at www.bost.org.uk.
