One of London’s best-kept secrets, The Table Cafe is a chic little eatery located a stone’s throw from Tate Modern, South Bank and Borough Market. Shaun Alpine-Crabtree, who with partners from the architectural practice Allies & Morrison, founded the restaurant eight years ago and has recently overseen its evolution.
From the sleek open kitchen comes an eclectic mix of modern British cuisine, expertly prepared using locally sourced ingredients and complemented by a seasonal wine list. All the food is produced in-house daily, from the breakfast date and walnut bread to the signature burger with secret-recipe sauce.
The restaurant’s commitment to impeccable sourcing and quality British ingredients has been evident since day one. A ground-breaking collaboration with the homeless charity St Mungo’s now sees The Table take herbs and vegetables on a daily basis, providing both revenue for the charity and an ongoing confidence boost for the workers in the allotments. A two star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association is proof of Shaun’s commitment to sustainable and ethical sourcing.
Their brunch menu is both award winning and a local favourite, while the evenings host an array of events.
Whether you’re a returning friend or a new customer, Shaun looks forward to welcoming you to The Table.
