Why Get Involved
Making an impact on Bankside's streets and spaces improving them for wildlife and peoples wellbeing.
Although not immediately obvious, the city is full of species that live in this urban environment. However due to loss of habitat, there have been declines in the number of birds, insects and mammals and action is needed to save them. By developing more urban green spaces no matter how small this can make a huge difference to wildlife.
Recent studies have also shown that urban green spaces are good for people's well-being having a sustained positive effect on people’s lives making them both healthier and happier. Not to mention the feel good factor when you have transformed a space and see the flowers in bloom as you pass by.
This session will be led by Better Bankside's Urban Gardener as part of our Bankside Urban Forest programme.
Volunteer roles include
