Bankside Skills Academy is the new name for Better Bankside’s Events Academy, an innovative work experience programme designed to give young people in Southwark unprecedented access to the expertise and knowledge of a wide range of businesses.

Each year we recruit eight enthusiastic 16-21 year olds who live or study in Southwark to spend the summer working side-by-side with members of the Bankside business community to improve not only their practical skills such as CV writing, interview skills, time management and communications but also boost their confidence, resilience and professionalism in the real world of work.

Why take part?

Businesses Partnerships

The Bankside Skills Academy is a great opportunity to engage with young people from the local community and to see how your contribution can make a tangible difference in their lives.

The contributions of our business partnerships are key to shaping this award-winning programme. All activities are tailored to ensure both the businesses and the students get the most out of this unique opportunity. These can include careers workshops, skills training, CV guidance, mock interviews, insight days, speed networking or practical support to help the students deliver a successful event at the end of the project.

If your business would like to get involved this year, please contact Rachel Nicholson, Corporate Responsibility Manager: rn [at] betterbankside.co.uk (subject: Bankside%20Skills%20Academy%20-%20business%20interest)
