Community Connections Forum - now live!
We're pleased to say that Better Bankside’s Annual Community Connections event went off without a hitch with many successful matches made. The purpose of the event was to facilitate conversations between Bankside businesses and community groups and establish relationships that help to make Bankside a better place to be. Chaired by Lisa Henshaw from Fourth Day PR and hosted by the wonderful Glaziers Hall with stunning views of the Thames, the event brought together 41 Banksiders to share what they can offer or what they need support with.
Speakers included Councillor Victoria Mills, Cabinet Member for Communities and Economic Wellbeing; Andy Williams from St Mungo’s on the benefits they've seen from getting involved with local businesses including recruiting mentors for their homeless clients; and Joe Stather from STR Global on how they are kicking off their CSR efforts and the positive impact its having on their business.
The event also saw the launch of the Community Connections Forum which aims to facitiliate conversations all year round. If you need support or have support to offer, from space to volunteers, then simply post on the forum and get a conversation started!
