Join an innovative charity tackling food waste & food poverty
Plan Zheroes is a small, innovative charity dedicated to tackling food waste and food poverty. In 2015, Plan Zheroes, together with its partners, IT design and consultancy Keytree, launched a mobile responsive online platform that allows companies to connect with local charities and post their donations of surplus food online to help redistribute it to those most in need. Plan Zheroes also runs volunteer-led food collections at four London markets, including iconic Borough Market.
Recognised as experts in their field, Plan Zheroes is a small charity with an annual income under £250,000 and with a team of just two staff, but with ambitions to grow and scale up the reach of their online platform. To help them do this, they are looking for new trustees who can use their skills and knowledge to support the charity's growth plans and help implement an income generation model to support these aims. They are particularly looking for new trustees with experience (either professionally or through volunteering) in the following areas:
- Fundraising, with a particular emphasis on developing corporate and individual giving
- Business development and marketing
- IT sector
They are also interested in food business professionals, or people who have experience working or volunteering at charities using (surplus) food.
Trustees are expected to attend quarterly Board meetings and an annual planning day, attend events, promote and champion Plan Zheroes' work and fundraising efforts, and also advise and support the CEO on ad hoc pieces of work (usually 1-2 hours per month).
