Mint Street Job Fair goes down a storm

Over 50 local job seekers met employers at community jobs fair this month

Surrounded by the colourful aliens and spaceships of Mint Street Adventure Playground’s decorative walls, ten organisations offered employment advice at our successful job fair this month, as part of Employ Local week.

Interview clinics and were offered to jobseekers by ABTA, and were much appreciated by local job hunters.CV workshops also ran throughout the day to help with layouts, spelling and grammar checks this was run by Southwark Youth Service.

MACE, Morgan Hotel Group, the Good People, JobCentre Plus, Lambeth Working and Southwark Works also contributed their time, highlighting the opportunities available to local employment seekers.

.“We arranged this Jobs Fair with the help of Better Bankside Members and I would like to thank them all for taking part and making the event a success.” says Rutie Mupfurutsa, EmploySE1 Manager. “This is our first Jobs Fair we’ve organised and I think it proves local businesses want to employ local residents”

To find out more about local employment opportunities, visit the EmploySE1 website. EmploySE1 is a free to use recruitment website for local businesses based in SE1 or SE11 to recruit local residents. Employers register and post vacancies on the website free of charge, then registered agencies log in and send you appropriate candidates. It's an excellent filter service, as the agencies only send over candidates the meet the employers' requirements at no cost to the employer.
