Volunteers Needed to Help Facilitate a Local Elderly Social Club

Bankside and You Opportunity
From cooking a meal to playing Bingo there are plenty of ways to get involved.
1 Rushworth Street
London SE1 0RB
Síle Kelleher (pronounced Sheila)
Corporate Responsibility Manager

Blackfriars Settlement’s Older People’s Services offer a warm welcome to all who are 50+ but still young at heart. Their services are buzzing with life, fun and laughter with an activities program to suit all and a great opportunity to make new friends in a safe environment.

They are looking for a group of six to eight volunteers to help with their Lunch Clubs.

Volunteers will take over the cooking from the planning and buying of ingredients, to preparing a 2-course meal for about 35 members. Other jobs include setting the tables, serving the meals and washing up. Full guidance will be provided and if shopping is too tricky a task this can be done for you.

Once everyone is fed (including the volunteers) and the wash up is done, volunteers help organise and deliver an afternoon social activity for the social club e.g. Bingo, musical afternoon.

This can be a full day activity of you can do either the cooking or running the social activity. All support is greatly appreciated.

If this activity is of interest to you contact us to get involved.

Timings approximately from 9:30am  – 4pm
