We encourage a cycling and walking culture in Bankside, it’s better for you and better for the environment. Our range of special perks for cyclists make it easier for you to consider travelling by bike, and equip you with the skills you need to keep your bike safe and roadworthy.
Better Bankside offers a free basic bike servicing to employees of its member businesses.
Each session provides participants with a basic servicing which will assess:
- General roadworthiness of each bike
- Brake pads and brake cables are functioning properly
- Gears are functioning properly
- Wheels are spinning/aligned correctly
- Tyres well inflated and no indication of any inner tube punctures
Please contact us to learn more about upcoming monthly & in-house Dr Bike sessions or check the Events page for the next session.

Cycle Confidence and Safety
Guided rides for beginners and HGV awareness events
In an effort to improve road safety in the area, Better Bankside and Southwark Council run several joint-initiatives. Cyclists and those who wish to start cycling at member companies can take part in a free one-to-one cycle safety session tailored to their level of experience. Periodically, we also hold HGV awareness events which engage with both lorry drivers and cyclists on ways to avoid dangerous road situations. For more information on cycle confidence events, email Sophie Tyler (email@example.com)
