Help Better Bankside and Southwark Council improve local air quality. On 1 November we will be asking drivers who idle to switch off their engines when stationary. Idling degrades local air quality, impacts our health and creates unpleasant walking and cycling environments.
79% of local businesses want to see an improvement in air quality. One way to do this is by asking drivers not to idle. We will provide drivers with fun and interactive information on impacts of idling.
Better Bankside are currently recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers who want to be part of this innovative education and behaviour change campaign to reduce localised air pollution and improve air quality in their workplace and residential community.
