Help Better Bankside and Southwark Council improve local air quality. On Tuesday 20 February we will be asking drivers who idle to switch off their engines when stationary. Idling degrades local air quality, impacts our health and creates unpleasant walking and cycling environments.
79% of local businesses want to see an improvement in air quality. One way to do this is by asking drivers not to idle. We will provide drivers with fun and interactive information on the impacts of idling.
Better Bankside is currently recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers who want to be part of this innovative education and behaviour change campaign to reduce localised air pollution and improve air quality in their workplace and residential community.
The event will take place from 9am starting at the Better Bankside offices. For any new volunteers, who have not had the training, they should arrive at 8.30am for a short briefing before the main event startis at 9am.
If you want to join us for this event or would like more information please contact info [at] betterbankside.co.uk. Please let us know if you plan to attend the training session as well as the anti-idling activity
