Join us for an enchanting evening at historical landmark, the Crossbones Garden on Wednesday 26 August, 6.30 to 8.30pm. Seven local young people aged 16 -19 have joined Better Bankside as part of Events Academy and are hosting an awareness and fundraising event for the Crossbones Garden. You can donate now at justgiving.com/growcrossbones/
The Grow Crossbones event theme is a medieval fayre. We aim to enlighten guests of the historical value of the garden with a night of fun activities and entertainment including;
- Raffle with fantastic prizes, donated by local businesses
- Live performances of gospel rap, poetry and more
- A question and answer puppet show
- Apple bobbing
- Treasure hunt with prizes such as a bottle of champagne!
The site of Crossbones Garden was a graveyard in the medieval ages which was used for the poorer population of Bankside that could not pay for an honorable burial.
This unique site has been transformed from the last resting place of those excluded from society to a place of inclusion representing the unity of Londoners. We are delighted to be part of the process of creating a new green space where all are welcomed.
Come and enjoy a glass of wine, delectable food from The Boot & Flogger and a variety of entertainment at the Grow Crossbones fundraising event. The event is open to Bankside businesses and local people.
RSVP is essential, please let us know if you and your colleagues are able to attend by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
