1 Flat Iron Square
Every Monday lunchtime we run a free 40 minute speed walk, leaving from Flat Iron Square, Union Street at 1.10pm.
It's a great opportunity to get away from your desk and explore the area whilst boosting fitness and burning calories. We cover up to three miles in 40 minutes, and burn up to 300 calories.
Every week we calculate routes that take in key transport hubs, follow quick, quiet and low pollution routes and show you alternative areas of Bankside. 100% of the speed walking group said they have an improved knowledge of the area thanks to the walk.
They aim to teach you good walking habits and encourage you to use walking as your main mode of transport in Bankside. Speed walking is a simple and effective free activity. It helps to improve your overall health and fitness and is a great way to lose weight, tone your muscles, strengthen your heart and instill a general feeling of well-being and positive self-esteem.
