Grab your trainers and join Joanna and Julie for the first Bankside Speed Walkers group walk.
Meet us at The Bankside Community Space. We will be setting off on a 40 minute, 3 mile speed walk at 1.10pm.
We will be conducting this first walk at a medium speed along a circular route down to Elephant and Castle, ending back at the Community Space, at 1.50pm. These walks have been designed with working people in mind. Their length fits nicely into a lunch break and their route follows some of Bankside's key travel paths to and from major transport hubs. All you need to do is bring a pair of trainers or suitable walking shoes. This first speed walk will be open to all abilities.
Speed Walking is a simple and effective free activity. It helps to improve overall health and fitness and is a great way to lose weight, tone your muscles, strengthen your heart and instill a general feeling of well-being and positive self-esteem.
