Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling collections

A regular 'amnesty' collecting WEEE recycling from businesses

Collections will take place on the last Wednesday of every month

Members who want to use this service should contact First Mile on 0800 612 9894 or by e-mail to Rosie Higgins Rosie.Higgins [at] (subject: Bankside%20WEE%20collection) a week before the last Wednesday of each month to book a collection.

Members should give details of equipment to be collected, quantity of material and collection point. Reference Better Bankside WEEE Amnesty. Items for collection:  Any electrical items / white goods.  This includes kettles, keyboards, monitors, phones, laptops, microwaves etc.

All WEEE is taken to First Mile’s depot at Park Royal from where the materials are collected by Sims Recycling and transported to a facility in Kent. Here hazardous and non-hazardous WEEE is separated, broken down securely and recycled. Any hard drives are shredded to ensure confidentiality.

If demand is very high then collections might take place over a couple of days. In which case First Mile will make all customers aware.

First Mile also provide free* dry mixed recycling service to Better Bankside businesses, are piloting confidential waste recycling with the first 50 businesses to Rosie.Higgins [at] (subject: Bankside%20Recycling) (get in touch with Rosie) and offer discounted food waste recycling.
