London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world. The Festival returns to venues and institutions across the city from 15-23 September 2018.
The Bankside Design District has developed a strong theme of typography for London Design Festival and 2018 won’t disappoint font fans and type geeks. Better Letters return with their pop-up sign painting schools in Borough Market with US legend Mike Meyer. Sarah Hyndman of Type Tasting will present an interactive history of type through the medium of wine. Expect a holographic-inspired secret garden at citizenM Bankside, plus product launches and parties at designer-maker enclave Oxo Tower Wharf. Transforming two pedestrian crossings in Bankside, the district will also unveil a brand new commission of ‘Colourful Crossing’ installations from British designer, Morag Myerscough. Putting south London design on the map, the district runs east to west along the Thames from Borough Market to Oxo Tower Wharf. The Bankside Design District continues to celebrate the creative diversity of this riverside destination, home to galleries, creative agencies, design studios and architect’s practices.
Each year Bankside becomes a design district for London Design Festival. We are focusing on showcasing our creative members. Last year businesses ran workshops, events, and exhibitions. kp [at] betterbankside.co.uk (subject: London%20Design%20Festival, body: Hi%20Kate%2C%20%0A%0AWe%20are%20interested%20in%20getting%20involved%20in%20London%20Design%20Festival.%20) (Get in touch) if you would like to get your team involved with the festival.
