Bankside's Neighbourhood Plan

Your chance to shape the future of your neighbourhood
Valerie Beirne
Bankside Urban Forest Manager

In 2011 the Localism Act introduced neighbourhood development plans (to give them their full name) as the newest members in the family of land use plans in England and Wales. Here in Bankside a group of residents, businesses and local organisations began working together in 2011 as the Neighbourhood Forum to work out what ambitions a plan for Bankside should include, and what policies would help achieve that.

To date Bankside is the only neighbourhood plan so far to embrace both business and resident communities – reflecting the remarkable mix here that is the strength of this neighbourhood and ensuring that both are fully represented and engaged in the plan-making process.

Bankside's Neighbourhood Forum have been meeting since 2011 and we have set up the website to let the wider community know what we are doing. In December 2012 we'll be pulishing a draft Neighbourhood Plan, and are keen to get as much feedback as we can.

Keep in touch with us for updates, and to hear more about how you can get involved.
