Can you give an hour or two on Christmas Day?

Bankside and You Opportunity
Join Blackfriars Settlement as they celebrate Christmas with local isolated elderly people.
1 Rushworth Street
London SE1

The festive season is always an excellent time to get involved with volunteer work, especially when support is most needed. Blackfriars Settlement are looking for volunteers to lend a hand on Christmas Day.

Whether you can donate a few hours of your time or half a day, this is an opportunity to help people celebrate Christmas who otherwise wouldn't have one. If you're able to donate your time as an individual or want to gather your family and friends together for an afternoon, there's plenty of scope to get involved.

Activities could range from:

  • dinner prep and tidy up
  • decorating the space
  • organising activities
  • simply chatting with and creating a friendly environment for the participants.

Most importantly Blackfriars Settlement need drivers on Christmas Day to bring the guests to the venue for 12pm and then take them home at 5pm.

If you'd like to find out more or register your interest, please contact Tina or Siggy on the emails below.

The Older People's services at Blackfriars Settlement aims to combat elderly loneliness and help contribute to a better quality of life for older people who are marginalised from the wider community. The organisation sets out to achieve this by running a variety of initiatives throughout the calendar year from weekly art and craft clubs to befriending projects.
