Enter the Famous Dragon Café! Want to Help Out?
Mental Fight Club re-opens the doors of the amazing Dragon Café on Monday 17 February, thanks to generous funding from Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity. Another exciting year of creative inspiration lies ahead for everyone in our local community, especially those going through mental illness and recovery.
The Dragon Café is open to all, Mondays only from 12 – 20.30, providing a safe, stimulating and creative space for over 200 people every week. The art on the walls, the freshly prepared and reasonably priced vegetarian food, the chill-out zone, the massage and the varying range of daytime creative groups all make for a relaxing and engaging time.
Daytime groups include writing, art, tai chi, boxing, mindfulness, gardening, dancing and singing. Evening events range from performances, creative talks and discussions, to dancing or games nights! Do come and see us any Monday.
If you would like to volunteer, we are looking for assistance both on Mondays (4 hour shifts) – a warm welcome on reception; serving fine food and drinks from the kitchen; keep the show on the road with stage management; as well as between Mondays – keeping accurate records in administration and data input; an eye for detail in graphic design, IT, social media and website; support the continued success of the project with fundraising and communications research.
Do you have a:
- willingness to learn?
- commitment to supporting colleagues and guests?
- enthusiasm for a creative and welcoming atmosphere?
- desire to foster a space for wellbeing and recovery?
- Interested in volunteering?
