Have Your Employees Become Mentors
Brightside an online mentoring charity, support disadvantaged young people to reach their potential in education and employment. They have recently secured part-funding from the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) to deliver an online mentoring project for young people in rural and coastal communities. This presents an opportunity for your employees to be trained in mentoring and to get involved for a per-head cost instead of having to commit to a full-cost pilot.
The project aims to support young people from isolated areas (aged 14-18) to develop their employability skills and plan for the future. This is a high impact, low cost intervention where your employees will have a chance to make a real difference to a young person’s life whilst developing their own professional skills. Mentors can log in and send messages to their mentee at a time that suits them, across our safe and monitored online platform. They will be trained to become an effective mentor through webinar masterclasses at a time that suits them, DBS checked, and then supported throughout the 10 week online mentoring period. Your employees can become trained online mentors for a substantially reduced cost of only £50 per head. Mentors can volunteer for one, two or three rounds of 10 week mentoring periods, depending on their preference.
