Think nothing can be done about polluting exhaust fumes?
Better Bankside is getting involved in an exciting new London-wide Cross River Partnership project to drive down air pollution. We’re currently looking for Change Makers - a team of volunteers to help deliver this.
The Clean Air Action Fortnight will take place on the morning of Wednesday 9 and Wednesday 16 March and will focus on #noidling across London – asking drivers in local pollution hotspots to turn their engines off when stationary to reduce dirty air from their exhausts. All materials will be provided and volunteers will be in pairs on the day.
A free two hour training session will be provided, you can choose to attend any of the following
- Wednesday 2 March at Waterloo Action Centre 14 Baylis Road, SE1 7AA
- Morning Session 8 -10am or
- Lunch Session 12 - 2pm
- Thursday 3 March at Westminster City Hall Victoria Street SW1 6SB
- Lunch Session 12 – 2pm or
- Evening Session 6 – 8pm
As a Change Maker, you’ll be helping to tackle a major public health issue as well as making Bankside a cleaner, healthier place to breathe, live and work.
If you’re interested in getting involved, call or email ST [at] betterbankside.co.uk (subject: Clean%20Air%20Volunteering) (Sophie Tyler).
