Spring is the perfect excuse to step outside and explore. Join our Spring Wellbeing Walk through the Bankside neighbourhood and discover hidden corners, green spaces, and historical stories designed to lift your mood.
There is strong evidence supporting the mental and physical benefits of walking making this the perfect opportunity to connect with your surroundings, spend time with colleagues, and make new friends in this fascinating and multi-layered area.
On the walk, you'll explore a beautiful haven for wildlife and people. You'll also visit a former school that once served Bankside's most disadvantaged children, before following the Low-Line beneath the railway arches to admire diverse architectural styles and the independent businesses revitalising this former industrial quarter.
Most importantly, this is your chance to take a much needed screen break, stretch your legs, and embrace the unique wonders of Bankside as the neighbourhood comes alive in spring.

The Goodlife Centre invites you to take a break from the digital world and get hands on with tools and materials in their wonderful workshop.
In this session, you’ll have fun working with wood using modern and traditional hand tools. Hammer nails, saw wood, drill something… and express stress by energy transfer in the doing. Think of these sessions as sensory play for grown-ups, for a small window in your day you can enjoy some light touch destruction/construction, alongside tea and biscuits. You’ll also have the chance to see some of The Goodlife Centre courses in action.
Based in a 1950s factory building in Bankside, The Goodlife Centre offers a range of courses in often forgotten practical skills and crafts from woodworking to tiling, upholstery and drilling. Frustrated desk bound creatives often leave with a sense of wonder, able to hold something they have made.
This event is part of Better You, our wellbeing programme designed to help you kickstart the new year with energy and positivity. January is an ideal time to explore new activities and sharpen your skills, and Better You is here to support you every step of the way. Our range of free activities offers something for everyone, and we’d love for you to join us for other events too!
Our events often fill up quickly, and with nearly 1,000 members, we want everyone to have the chance to join. To make this fair, please book a maximum of three in-person events during Better You.
Does the thought of presenting to a room full of colleagues fill you with dread? Whether you're speaking in person or online via Teams or Zoom, this workshop is designed to help.
If you've ever needed to win a pitch, share your work clearly, or persuade others to your point of view, this session is for you. It's suitable for all levels and for anyone who wants to become a more confident, articulate and engaging speaker.
