Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine has been practiced in China and other Eastern countries for over 2000 years and is one of the oldest systems of healing in existence and is still part of mainstream healthcare. Acupuncture stimulates and rebalances energetic flows around the body and is used around the world to help alleviate pain and restore balance. In the UK both GPs and insurance companies are now referring patients to traditional acupuncturists.

Practitioner Laura Ichajapanich was born in Asia and has returned to her roots through her interest in Chinese medical and martial arts. Her goal is to inspire people to become actively involved in developing their qi (functional energy) in order to achieve an enhanced quality of life. She has a Masters degree, with distinction, in Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) from South Bank University and spent six months at Heilongjiang University, China. Laura has a clinic at breathe at the Colombo Centre. Clients come for acupuncture treatments to help with both physical and mental wellbeing, including insomnia, eating disorders, smoking cessation, lower back pain, sciatica, neck and shoulder tension, anxiety, fertility, stress management and many others.  The British Acupuncture Council have an excellent fact sheet listing the benefits and the evidence base for treatments.
