Sumner Street

Did you know that through Bankside Urban Forest, Better Bankside has planted more than 200 trees across the neighbourhood over the last 5 years?  Pehaps you'll be surprised to hear that there are over 2000 trees in public and private spaces across the area.   That all adds up to a lot of green cover.

It is, but there is plenty more that we and our partners can be doing to help green Bankside.  Our neighbrourhood benefits from a rich network of smaller pocket parks, many of which are expertly maintained by local green space charity Bankside Open Spaces Trust, but Bankside does lack larger open and green spaces.  That's where initiatives like Bankside Urban Forest, and the Mayor of London's  RE:LEAF initiative can play a part.

Join us on this fun and informative walk to learn more about the work of Bankside Urban Forest and the importance of trees and other urban greening to a neighbourhood like Bankside.  Find out more about our other initiatives planned as part of London Tree Week 2013.
