Join us for a 40 minute speed walk around the Bankside neighbourhood. Burn calories and discover the back streets.

Get to know Bankside on your feet. Take a break from your screen and explore the neighbourhood in your lunch break.

We'll be meeting at 12.30pm outside the Island Cafe (on the South Side of Flat Iron Square) and leaving at 12.35pm. The walk will take about 40 minutes, returning to our starting point at about 1.15pm. We will be covering about 2.5 miles, within this time, so please wear comfortable footwear to keep up with this brisk pace. 

This walk will take us over the river, along the North Bank, past Tower of London and over Tower Bridge before returning to Flat Iron Square. 

Speed walking is a simple and effective free activity. It helps to improve your overall health and fitness and is a great way to lose weight, tone your muscles, strengthen your heart and instill a general feeling of well-being and positive self-esteem. Exploring new routes can help you incorporate more walking into your everyday routine. We've mapped out easy to walk routes that take less than an hour to complete. The routes explore quiet, less polluted, less well-known routes through and around Bankside.
