What role should streets play in London and Bankside? How can the need for moving traffic be balanced with making places to live, work and visit?
This is the question that will be discussed by member of the Mayor’s Roads Task Force, Ben Plowden, Director of Planning at Transport for London and local experts at this event.
Launched last July, the Roads Task Force has examined the challenges faced by London's road network and possible solutions to improve roads for all users. At the heart of its emerging recommendations is a vision for streets that balances space for living as well as for movement. With the final report due in July, work has already started at Transport for London to examine its findings and develop new ways of working to deliver this vision.
This breakfast event will aim to:
- explore the implications of Roads Task Force vision for Bankside and the work of the Bankside Urban Forest
- highlight the role that travel planning can play in its delivery
- celebrate the launch of the new Better Bankside Travel Map
