2 November - Put Your Organisations Leftover Foodstuffs to Good Use

Find out ways to take your surplus food, food waste and coffee grounds away from landfill

In the UK there is 10 million tonnes of food wasted every year while 8.4 million people struggle with food insecurity.

Around 40% of this waste ends up in landfill where it produces methane with a global warming potential 21 times stronger than carbon dioxide.

This event is relevant for every type of organisation including offices, restaurants and shops.

Whether it’s turning your office waste coffee grounds into biofuel, redistributing your unused quality food or having a dedicated food waste bin in your kitchen there is something for everyone to take on board.

Hear from a panel of guest speakers on innovative ways your organisation can stop sending foodstuffs to landfill.

  • Borough Market: Practical insights into food recycling from a business perspective
  • Plan Zheroes: Redistributing and turning your surplus food into meals for those that need it
  • bio-bean: Turning your waste coffee grounds into advanced biofuels
  • First Mile: Turning your food waste into electricity and fertiliser
