Join us for a briefing with Southwark Council on Tuesday 20 October at 2pm to hear more about the implementation of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) on Great Suffolk Street.
LTNs aim to reduce minor roads being used as 'rat runs' which increase air and noise pollution and cause traffic safety issues. The scheme will help increase space for cyclists and pedestrians, a requirement which has been heightened in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and in turn improve the trading environment for businesses.
Businesses and residents in the LTN can still access the area using motor vehicles, it will of course be accessible to emergency vehicles and all deliveries/collections can be still made - but some routes may change.
The scheme will come into effect in the last week of October for 18 months, with incremental changes possible for the next six month. Details of feedback methods will be published after the event.
