Movement through cities and towns is shaped by metal: railings, gates, fences, signposts, lampposts, bridges and rail tracks guide us through the urban realm.

The walk will start and finish at the CAA gallery where the idea originated to coincide with the recent exhibition 'Resonance: Making, metal and place'.  The aim is to explore the heart as well as the fringes of Bankside, from the Groundling Gates to the Cross Bones Gates, from well known landmarks to lesser known examples of the omnipresent metal in our streets, old and new.  Be prepared to drift off the familiar path and for a change of perspective.
