Join our Urban Gardener Georgia for a special event with Divya from Fruity Walks who will lead us on a tour of the fruit trees and berry bushes of Bankside and Lambeth.
Divya is one of the Southwark Rangers for London National Park City (LNPC), an organisation creating action to make London greener, healthier and wilder. By trade, Divya is a sustainable design engineer working on the built environment, but in her free time, she is passionate about urban foraging, specifically finding fruit trees in the city. Volunteering with LNPC, she hopes to encourage public parks to plant more fruit trees, clearly labeled to aid the community in identifying them.
Divya hopes to publish her own fruit-tree map soon, but in the meantime, you can follow her discoveries on Instagram @fruitywalks
We will be starting the walk at Webber Street (by the junction with Lancaster Street) to head towards the Imperial War Museum before looping back to Bankside. Full joining details will be sent to registered participants a couple of days before the event.
Please remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water with you. In case of extreme weather we will postpone, so please check your inbox a few hours before the event. Spaces are limited so please let us as soon as possible if you need to cancel to allow another person to attend.
Even though COVID restrictions have been lifted we ask that anyone feeling unwell, or displaying Covid symptoms do not attend on the day. It is also important that we continue to respect the personal boundaries and wishes of others with regards to personal space, mask wearing, and physical contact.
