One in seven people in the workplace in the UK are carers, 75% of whom worry about continuing to juggle work and care. Coupled with this, caring can have a significant impact on health and wellbeing, with 60% of carers reporting a long-term health condition or disability. But is there anything achievable that you can do as a carer to avoid becoming one of these statistics?
Take some time out at the start of your day, and join us for this breakfast event with Julia Oyeleye from Breathe London. Julia is a natural health therapist and teacher with 25 years of experience, and she is also a carer to her 21-year-old son. Julia will share her top five quick and easy strategies that she has tried and tested for herself and her clients, including how to use essential oils and supplements to support mental and physical wellbeing.
The event will also launch a new network for people who work in Bankside who have caring responsibilities for a family member, friend or neighbour who is disabled, has an illness or long-term condition, or needs extra help as they grow older.
The Bankside Carers Network is part of the Bankside Inclusion Networks, a series of place-based groups that create safe spaces for like-minded Banksiders to come together, share experiences, find support and build new connections.
If you are interested in joining this network or others, please contact Rachel Nicholson for more information.
