You are warmly invited to attend Better Bankside’s eleventh AGM where we will aim to give you a round-up of what we do, what's next and how you can get involved, in half an hour.
The meeting is the first in our third five year term, and will take place as the board finalises its five year strategic plan for a Better Bankside, to be implemented over the course of the third term.
Since the ballot and specifically over the past six months we have sought to learn the lessons from the ballot campaign. We have analysed the awareness of our services amongst businesses and the level of approval they attain. We are now identifying the breadth and depth of adoption of our services amongst the membership, and where take up is low determining why, and what can be done to make services more relevant and useful to those members.
The range of services we deliver is already broad, and for good reason. The area has such a rich diversity of businesses, each with particular needs. As ever we depend on feedback and are keen to meet with businesses to understand their needs – and ensure that our services help meet their concerns. You can help by giving us a call at any time, getting involved in our governance set-up, or by attending the AGM.
At the AGM there is a chance for you to join Better Bankside, if you have not already done so. In effect we treat all levy payers as members, but formally joining Better Bankside allows you to vote at the AGM, and be nominated to become a director of Better Bankside. All levy payers have the right to join Better Bankside and non-levy payers can apply to join at the discretion of the board. All members are eligible to stand for the board and/or to nominate another member.
The AGM provides an opportunity to ask the board any questions you may have about how we are investing our income on your behalf, or in relation to our activities more generally. Better Bankside’s audited accounts will be available for review on our website seven days before the meeting.
The official proceedings will be wrapped up within half an hour. Stay for drinks and nibbles and meet our theme groups - the people involved in shaping the Better Bankside programme. New members are always welcome to join any of our eight theme groups, which are the driving force behind our major areas of work; place marketing, the public realm, business and employee engagement, safety, cleaning, travel and CSR.
We'd love to talk to you about the exciting new projects we are bringing to Bankside.
