May has been a very successful month for Employ SE1 with our highest number of registered new employment opportunities so far in 2014 with 46 new jobs being posted. We have received roles for companies in the Bankside area including The Globe Theatre, Tate Modern and Table Restaurant.
Employ SE1 have also secured 11 roles at Waterloo station in a partnership with South West Trains who are actively seeking local residents for the positions. The roles are being advertised exclusively through Employ SE1 and applications close on 11th June.
More about EmploySE1:
The four Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) based in SE1 have successfully developed a new employment brokerage service. This service has the following objectives:
To assist the member businesses of the four BIDs to recruit Southwark/Lambeth-based employees
To support the work of local publicly-funded (i.e. free to the employer) employment agencies in seeking new employment opportunities for their Southwark/Lambeth-based clients
The pilot project has the following elements:
The EmploySE1 website – this password-accessible website allows employers based in and around the BID areas to post employment opportunities and to determine the type and quantity of CVs to be submitted by the agencies
The EmploySE1 register of free-to-the-employer agencies serving Southwark or Lambeth residents – this is an easy-to-use guide for BID area businesses, indicating the services supplied by the agencies
The EmploySE1 Charter Mark – local free-to-the-employer employment agencies are invited to sign up to this document. It gives them access to new employment opportunities within BID and surrounding area businesses, while requiring them to offer a certain level of service in return.
The EmploySE1 Employer Accord – BID and surrounding area businesses are invited to sign up to this document. It is a declaration of their intent to offer more employment and work experience opportunities to local people.
