Bankside Charity Treasure Hunt a Fantastic Success!

Teams from Bankside businesses scoured the area looking for clues raising £658 for our Community Partners.

Sincere thank you to everyone who took part in the first ever Bankside Charity Treasure Hunt, together we have raised £658!

All of the money raised will be divided equally between our Community Partners, Borough Music School, SE1 United, Southwark Playhouse Young Company, Robes Project and St. Mungo's Recovery College, five local charities working creatively to inspire and educate local young people and the homeless population.

Local business Boodle Hatfield had the fantastic idea to expand their popular Treasure Hunt to include other Bankside businesses. It was a great way to raise funds for our Community Partners and gave businesses the opportunity to get to know their neighbours.

25 teams set off on their hunt from Blackfriars Road wearing brightly coloured sashes. Tasks included forming conga lines, spotting elusive signs and standing in silly poses.

See how the Treasure Hunt unfolded on our storyboard

Lots of fun was had by all and the tension mounted as the results were called out in reverse order at our final stop The Mudlark.

'The Routemasters' from Lonely Planet had a few tricks up their sleeves winning the Treasure Hunt by a clear margin.

If you have any additional photos or comments please post them on twitter #banksidetreasure.

All of the organisations that took part have been awarded a Bankside Star in recognition of their contribution in supporting the local community.

Porky's, Konditor and Cook, Vapiano Bankside and Thames Clippers have also been awarded a Bankside Star for their donations of great prizes used in the raffle which helped raise additional funds.

Find out about other ways you can support our Community Partners in the attached handout or sak [at] (subject: Community%20Partners) (contact us) for more information.

Thank you once again to Boodle Hatfield for designing and supporting the Bankside Charity Treasure Hunt and for donating a magnum of Champagne as a raffle prize. This is a great example of a business leading in the community, if you have an idea you would like to share do sak [at] (subject: Ideas%20for%20business%20community%20activities%20in%20Bankside) (let us know).
