Bankside businesses are needed to help deliver Bankside Futures, an exciting summer programme for local young people, designed to get them ready for the world of work.

Bankside Futures helps young people build their awareness of different careers through skills-based workshops, employer encounters, networking opportunities, and mock interviews. Working in teams, they will also use the skills they develop to create a social action project that responds to issues they care about that affect our neighbourhood, before presenting their ideas to friends, families and Banksiders at the end of the programme.

Business volunteers are key to the success of the programme. You can get involved through:

Employer encounters: deliver a workshop to develop young people’s skills and knowledge in a particular area or hold a career spotlight session to share your career journey and the different roles in your organisation.

Speed-networking: join this fun and fast-paced activity to help young people practice their networking skills and build their confidence to talk to new people.

Mini mock interviews: volunteer to host short interviews to help the young people gain useful experience of answering questions about themselves and their achievements.

Speed-networking and mock interview events will take place in the afternoon between Tuesdays and Thursdays during the programme (exact dates to be confirmed shortly).

Bankside Futures runs from 8-19 July, and is delivered in partnership with Sculpt UK, a Bermondsey-based charity that empowers young people to shape their own future.

Get involved this summer to showcase your industry and organisation and make an impact by inspiring the next generation.
