On Sunday 8th September three members of Better Bankside's cleaning team - Rui Piedade, Davide Pintus and Marco Guaman and four members of Better Bankside's office team - Miguel Gomes, Chris Bateman, Giles Semper and Peter Williams - will cycle from the Bankside Community Space to Brighton Pier on pink Bromptons! That's 54 miles on fold-able bikes!
They are undertaking this energetic feat in a bid to raise crucial funds for Better Bankside Community Partner SE1 United, with the aim of helping them to continue their highly acclaimed education and leadership programmes for young people aged 11-19 in Southwark and Lambeth. They will be cycling as part of the SE1 United Peloton alongside the charity's young people, staff and trustees, getting the chance to learn first hand why their work is so valuable.
Please help them reach their fundraising target of £700 and support this inspirational resource for the young people of Bankside by donating through Team BBB's sponsorship page and encourage your friends and colleagues to donate, too.
Stay tuned for regular progress reports as they embark on the training for their epic journey....
