At Better Bankside we are always looking at ways to innovate, and improve our area. The high levels of pollutants and ‘dust’ produced by motor vehicles including delivery vans, are a real problem in Bankside, so to solve this we are launching a trial of the UK’s first cycle freight vehicle from November until December.
The vehicle will help local cafés, bars and restaurants to make local deliveries to businesses for breakfast and lunch times, as well as for corporate catering. It will be used to assist the new Bankside Gardening apprentice collect coffee grounds to be recycled for compost and service Borough Market providing deliveries to customers and businesses with its delicious local produce.
With a payload of up to 300kg, the Cargo box dimensions of 0.78m x 0.98m x 1.15, (l x w x h) provide the perfect amount of space for deliveries and can be driven on roads, cycle paths and pedestrian zones.
If you would like to get involved in this scheme, we are looking for both retailers and businesses to consider using the vehicle for free deliveries over the next month. Please contact bc [at] betterbankside.co.uk or st [at] betterbankside.co.uk for more information.
