Better Bankside comments on London Plan and Southwark Plan

Read our responses to local government strategies set to impact our neighbourhood
Peter Williams

At Better Bankside we regularly comment on transport, planning and policy consultations that are likely to impact our neighbourhood, taking into account the priorities and concerns of our members.

The Mayor of London recently published the draft new London Plan, a detailed 525 page document setting out a strategy for how London will develop over the next 20-25 years.

Better Bankside welcomes and supports many of the initiatives proposed in the London Plan. For example, there is a strong emphasis on Good Growth and Healthy Streets. Our response focuses on areas relating to design, economy, heritage and culture, green infrastructure and natural environment, sustainable infrastructure and transport. You can download our response to the draft New London Plan here.

The new Southwark Plan is also in development. We have commented on various iterations of the plan following in depth consultation with businesses and our board members, and we are pleased to note that many of our previous comments have been incorporated. You can read our response to the latest version here.

Do get in touch if you have any questions or comments.
