Discover tranquility in Bankside

Think of a city that offers space for nature, respite and calm. A city where you can wander, breathe clean air and listen to the sounds of people and wildlife together. This is the Tranquil City. This is Bankside.
Valerie Beirne
Bankside Urban Forest Manager

As part of our work to improve the network of streets and spaces in our neighbourhood through the Business Low Emissions Neighbourhood, Better Bankside and Team London Bridge have teamed up with our friends at Tranquil City

The Tranquil City project is exploring what tranquility means for us in the city, by creating a crowdsourced map of calm areas, called the Tranquil Pavement London. Help grow the map yourself by posting a photo of your tranquil space on Instagram, including #tranquilcitylondon #Bankside and the location.

The project will be running free tranquility explorations and walking tours in the Bankside area during February and March 2018, to help you find space for calm in your daily life. Contact hello [at] (subject: Tranquil%20City%20Bankside) to be notified of the events and to get involved. Find out more at
