Start the week with an energising speed walk. Every Monday lunchtime Better Bankside and The Bridge Gym run two free 40 minute speed walks, leaving from and returning to the Bankside Community Space. Take your pick of two speeds, the fast group aims to walk 3 miles in 40 minutes, the medium group aims to walk between 1.5 and 2 miles, also in 40 minutes. Both groups leave promptly at 1.10pm.
Every week Joanna and Julie caculate routes that take in key transport hubs, follow quick and quiet routes and take in alternative areas of Bankside. They aim to teach you good walking habbits and encourage you to use walking as your main mode of transport in Bankside. Speed Walking is a simple and effective free activity. It helps to improve your overall health and fitness and is a great way to lose weight, tone your muscles, strengthen your heart and instill a general feeling of well-being and positive self-esteem.
These speed walks are growing in popularity every week! There is no need to RSVP, just grab your trainers and get down for 1.10pm. Monday's will never be the same again!
