Support Bankside Open Spaces Trust

Help ensure the future of their green spaces post the pandemic and beyond

Bankside Open Spaces Trust is an environmental and volunteering charity who manage and maintain open spaces, welcome volunteers from both the community and the corporate sector, run regular gardening groups, support park steering groups and organise and take part in public events and educational projects. They collaborate closely with local residents and businesses to champion green spaces.

Thousands of people enjoy their open spaces every day. Each of their sites is unique, with its own atmosphere, identity and sense of place. Spaces include red Cross Garden, Marlborough Sports Garden, Waterloo Millenium Green and Tate Community Garden.

The charity has won more than 32 awards, including the UNESCO Man and Biosphere award, London in Bloom Champion of Champions and the MPGA London Spade for their community gardening partnerships.

Like so many charities, their income has fallen dramatically as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

During this time, green space is so important:

Thousands of people living locally do not have outdoor space to access during this crisis

Many are families with young children

There is substantial deprivation

People’s mental health is significantly improved by visiting green open spaces

BOST need your help more than ever to:

Keep their green spaces open for the community to enjoy responsibly during the Covid-19 crisis

Ensure the future of their green spaces post the pandemic and beyond

If you donate today you will automatically become a member of the “Friends of BOST” scheme. To repay your kindness and generosity, when it is safe to do so, they will hold a special Friends of BOST celebration event for everyone who has helped out at this crucial time. Until then they will keep you up to date with their other news and campaigns. Please give what you can today to become a Friend of BOST and protect your parks for the future.

Donate here.
