Empower your business: join this training to tackle violence against women and girls.

Did you know that around a third of women has experienced at least one form of harassment in the last year, and for women aged 16 to 34 years, this is two thirds? Not only sexual assault or rape, but also seemingly small acts such as staring, unwelcome comments, and jokes of a sexual nature can have a big impact. Women and girls should be able to walk our streets and visit any place without fear or intimidation.

We want to help people enjoy safer nights out in public spaces. By training your staff in WAVE and implementing Ask for Angela you can play a role in helping to prevent and reduce sexual violence and vulnerability within the night-time economy and beyond.

Southwark Council is pleased to offer FREE Violence and Vulnerability Engagement Training to all businesses in Southwark.

The training will be delivered by the Safer Business Network, and will include information on the Ask for Angela scheme, sign up to the Women’s Night Safety Charter, Violence and Vulnerability Engagement training, and sign up to the Safe Havens Scheme.
