Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Amnesty

Better Bankside in collaboration with The First Mile will be running a Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) ammnesty the week comencing 3rd of February. It can be a pain to rid yourself of old computers, white goods or a number of other 'past its prime' electronics. Help is at hand though.

Items for collection:  Any electrical items / white goods.  This includes kettles, keyboards, monitors, phones, laptops, microwaves etc.

Booking collections:  Call 0800 612 9894 or email ben.stgeorge [at] with a list of items that you would like collected.  Reference ‘Better Bankside WEEE Amnesty.’

Collection location: First Mile will collect from inside the business premises.

End destination of material.  Materials are separated between CRT and non-CRT (hazardous and non-hazardous).  Any dangerous material such as mercury is removed safely.  The items are then broken up into different material streams and everything is recycled.  Hard drives or laptops will be shredded for security reasons at the start of the process.
