Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycling collection on Tuesday 5th November

Recycle your old and broken monitors, printers, keyboard, scanners, servers, phones and kettles!

Better Bankside's quarterly Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycling collection will take place on Tuesday 5th November.

The service is provided free of charge to BID members by our recycling contractor First Mile. They can collect any waste electrical or electronic equipment used in offices and which have reached the end of their useable life.

The list includes the following items:

  • Monitors
  • Printers
  • Keyboards
  • Scanners
  • Servers
  • Phones
  • Kettles

They will be transported to a specialist facility in Kent. Once here all materials are separated between CRT and non-CRT (hazardous and non-hazardous). Any dangerous material such as mercury is removed safely. The items are then broken up into different material streams and everything is recycled.  Hard drives or laptops will be shredded for security reasons at the start of the process.

If you wish to use the service please call Ben St George at First Mile on 0800 612 9894 or make contact by e-mail: Ben.StGeorge [at] thefirstmile.co.uk (subject: Better%20Bankside%20WEEE%20Recycling)   and give him the details of the equipment to be collected, the quantity and the location from where it can be collected. He will book you in for a collection time on the 5th November.
