Better Bankside works with its members to fulfil their aspirations to be responsible businesses, helping them to play an active role in our neighbourhood. Our Corporate Responsibility programme helps to build long-term connections between businesses and local community organisations, schools and residents’ groups, to work together to make a difference to people living in Bankside and across Southwark.
We can support your business to develop its approach to being a responsible business, or help you and your colleagues get involved with our local community:
- Use the Bankside Community Exchange to find local charities, schools and community organisations that you can support through volunteering, fundraising or in-kind donations
- Join together with other Bankside businesses by getting involved with Better Bankside projects, including the Christmas gift appeal
- Help local young people learn about the world of work by sharing your career insights and hosting work experience activities by volunteering at local secondary school, Haberdashers’ Borough Academy or getting involved with Bankside Futures, Better Bankside’s summer employability programme.
Developing your Responsible Business strategy
We can help your business develop its approach to being a responsible business, whether that’s setting up a charity partnership or volunteering programme; building a more inclusive workplace culture; or, rethinking your recruitment to create job opportunities for under-represented groups.
Our responsible business advice also includes connecting you to other Better Bankside services and projects that can help reduce your environmental impact and support employee wellbeing.
