Our First 100 Days: A Strong Start to the Next Five Years

We’re 100 days into our fifth term and already making a difference for Bankside businesses. 

We kicked off with a high-energy launch event, bringing together 75 local business leaders to spark new connections. Since then, we’ve rolled out a stronger training offer, giving member businesses access to SEEDL’s 200+ online courses to boost skills across the board. 

We’re stepping up neighbourhood safety with two new initiatives: ShopSafe, a real-time intelligence-sharing platform, and a recruitment drive to expand MetMaps, our shared CCTV scheme helping to speed up theft investigations. 

We’re also helping members raise their profile. A new digital storytelling strategy and quarterly networking events are opening up fresh opportunities to reach new audiences. And with our new data insights package launching in September, members will soon have access to powerful tools to track local growth and development. 

On the ground, we’ve improved street cleaning and cut costs. We’ve created a new green space on Webber Street, consulted on America Street upgrades, and secured £252k to grow the Southwark Climate Collective, supporting over 150 businesses to decarbonise. 

From inclusion events to career programmes for local young people, we’re building a Bankside that’s stronger, greener, and happier. And we’re just getting started.
