Find out more about our pink-vehicle cleaning team, who patrol Bankside daily covering nearly 100 locations across the BID – washing streets, removing graffiti and tackling hard-to-reach spots.
You can’t miss our cleaning team and their electric vehicles as they patrol Bankside, maintaining high standards across our public spaces. Their responsibilities include washing and sweeping streets, removing graffiti, fly posting and gum, and using the pink ‘gluttons’ to tackle hard-to-reach spots.
The team now inspects and cleans nearly 100 locations throughout the BID, focusing on spaces either not cleaned by the Council or difficult to maintain due to heavy footfall or challenging surfaces. They also respond to call-outs from businesses and organisations needing clean-ups outside their premises following fouling, spillage or fly-tipping. Our wardens play their part too, calling the cleaning team into action whenever they spot a problem.
The team also have a new hot jet wash which can clean chewing gum, graffiti, and street grime efficiently in hard-to-reach areas. It also uses powerful hot-water pressure washing while remaining quiet, making it ideal for use in Bankside’s busy commercial and residential streets.
