This online session gives participating SMEs the knowledge and tools to measure, understand, and act on their carbon footprint.

Carbon Accounting, Offsetting and Credits This online session gives participating SMEs the knowledge and tools to measure, understand, and act on their carbon footprint. They will learn how to break down their emissions into the three scopes, use free online calculators with confidence, and recognise credible carbon offsets. Through interactive sessions, they’ll test a simple carbon calculator, practice boundary setting, and brainstorm carbon reductions that can be tailored to their business. By the end, they’ll have a clear starting point for tracking emissions, identifying reduction opportunities, and making informed offsetting decisions that support their business and sustainability goals. Whether your business has already confirmed its participation in Bankside Futures, or you want to learn more about the different ways to get involved in this summer's programme, you are welcome to attend this breakfast event. It's an opportunity to hear from Sculpt UK, delivery partner for Bankside Futures, about all the ways that Bankside businesses can help young people learn about the world of work; whether that's providing an insight into your sector and its career pathways, delivering a skills-based workshop or helping young people on the programme practice their networking and interview skills. There will also be time to network with other Bankside businesses over tea, coffee and pastries. What is Bankside Futures? Bankside Futures is a two-week summer work experience opportunity for young people aged 16-18 years old who live and/or study in Southwark.  Bankside Futures runs from 8-19 July, and helps young people build their awareness of different careers through skills-based workshops, employer encounters, networking opportunities and more.  Working in teams, the young people will also develop a social action project that responds to issues they care about that affect our neighbourhood. They will present their ideas to family, friends, teachers and Bankside businesses at the end of the programme. To find out more about Bankside Futures and how your organisation can get involved this summer, please contact Rachel Nicholson: rn@betterbankside.co.uk    [post_title] => 20 June - Bankside Futures Business Briefing [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => closed [ping_status] => closed [post_password] => [post_name] => 20-june-bankside-futures-business-briefing [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2024-05-28 16:29:28 [post_modified_gmt] => 2024-05-28 15:29:28 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => https://betterbankside.co.uk/?post_type=event&p=5358 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => event [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) ) [post_count] => 12 [current_post] => -1 [before_loop] => 1 [in_the_loop] => [post] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 6628 [post_author] => 32 [post_date] => 2025-09-25 13:28:50 [post_date_gmt] => 2025-09-25 12:28:50 [post_content] =>

About the Southwark Climate Collective The Southwark Climate Collective is a partnership project led by Better Bankside, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by the Mayor of London. In 2024, the project supported 141 SMEs on their net zero journeys, achieving a range of outcomes, from energy savings and increased recycling rates to improved processes and management practices. In the 2025-6 phase, the project is being expanded to support a wider cohort of SMEs across Southwark to prioritise climate action, through bespoke consulting support, a programme of expert-led training, Carbon Literacy Training and a suite of online resources.
