An introduction to looking after their own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
Confidence to offer support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue
This 3.5 hour course will be delivered in person at Better Bankside. Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.
Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a link to the Mental Health England portal where you’ll submit your details, in order to receive your workbook and certificate after the training.
Everyone who completes the course gets:
A certificate of attendance to say they are Mental Health Aware
A manual to refer to whenever they need it
A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health

[post_content] => Join us to create your very own kokedama moss ball. Kokedama is the practice of wrapping plants in a sphere of moss which has some overlap to bonsai and is both relaxing in its process and satisfying in its results.
You’ll learn how to create kokedama in this workshop and how to look after them, so you can take your creation home and keep it healthy.
The session will be hosted by wagumi, a local business celebrating Japanese culture and crafts. It will be a hands-on session with all materials provided, please wear clothes suitable for gardening.

You can bring along their old clothes or fabric remnants, approximately a Fat quarter size (50cm x 55cm), and we’ll show you how to turn into a fashionable hair accessory.

Hands-on instruction on creating a knotted headband from scratch.
Eco-friendly tips and ideas for upcycling fabrics
