A development of the iconic Southwark Tube station to provide 200,000 sq ft of office space as well as hospitality and retails space.

The application Site is situated within the London Borough of Southwark (LBS). It is located above Southwark Station, at 68-70 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8JZ and covers an area of approximately 0.49 hectares. To the east boundary of the Site is Blackfriars Road (A201) which runs north-south through Southwark towards Blackfriars Bridge and the City of London. To the south of the Site is The Cut, which connects the Site with Waterloo Station to the west. It features a diverse mix of uses and buildings, including The Old Vic, small independent retail units, restaurants and residential properties.
The Proposed Development comprises a commercial office building (200,000 sqf), including a mix of retail, food and beverage uses and affordable workspace at the ground and first floor, and public realm improvements above Southwark Station. The development will also retain the existing station entrance, ticket hall and lightwells down to the Jubilee line platforms.
The development will also unlock more council housing in Styles House at the site next door.
